Widget Level Filtering

Widget level filtering is defined as the ability to filter ANY widget(s) independently of Global and Dashboard Filtering. Now, we have the ability to create a dashboard that is measuring the Diagnostic Summary of a building.

Using the “Impact Report: Diagnostic Summary” dashboard, we will walk through one use case of the many that is possible with widget level filtering.

Adding a “Widget Filter”

  1. On the “Impact Report: Diagnostic Summary” navigate to the widget labeled as “Diagnostic Avoidable Cost by Equipment” and click the filter icon in the upper right hand corner of the widget.

  2. A modal will now appear. Within this modal will be displayed any pre-existing widget filters (blank) if none are selected, the title of the widget, and a filter icon.

  3. To add your own widget filters, click the one of the groups. Now a list of all the categories you can filter on will appear:

  4. You can now select from a list of Equipment for your selected Building and Organization and then click “OK” to apply your selections.

  5. The filter will now update with the selection of equipment, in this case (2). You can now choose to make more equipment selections, add more filters, or apply your filters by clicking “OK”.

  6. Our “Diagnostic Avoidable Cost by Equipment” is now filtering on the selected equipment and has updated to look like:
    BEFORE filtering:

    AFTER filtering:

Edit Widget Title

After a widget has been filtered to a specific use case, the title may no longer be specific to the widget filtering use case. To change the widget title:

  1. Using the use case above, navigate back to “Diagnostic Avoidable Cost by Equipment”

  2. On the widget, click the pencil next to the title.

  3. Now you will be able to edit the widget title to anything you would like. The title will turn blue signifying you are editing the widget title.

  4. Once you have finished making edits, either click the pencil again or anywhere outside the widget and your title will be automatically be saved.

Deleting a “Widget Filter”

  1. To delete a “Widget Filter” using the scenario above, (On the “Impact Report: Diagnostic Summary” navigate to the widget labeled as “Diagnostic Avoidable Cost by Equipment” and click the filter icon in the upper right hand corner of the widget):

  3. Now simply do the reverse of what you did to add the widget filter by selecting the equipment category, selecting equipment, and unclicking the checkmarks next to the previously selected equipment and clicking okay:
