Create Dashboard: Creating a dashboard from scratch

Instead of adding a dashboard from the dashboard template library, you can also create your own dashboard using any widgets you choose from the widget library. This will create a “User Dashboard” that will not be available to any other users and will not be impacted by the “Parent/Child Relationship” in https://kgsbuildings.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ClockworksAnalyticsUM/pages/1817083920 Follow these steps.

  1. Go to the “Manage Dashboards” page by clicking “Dashboards” in the left hand navigation or by clicking “Dashboards” from any screen in the upper left.

  2. Click “Create Dashboard” in the upper right.

3. Name your dashboard and describe your intended purpose in the description

4. Then click “Create”

5. Your dashboard will now appear in the left hand navigation menu under “Dashboards” or in your “Manage Dashboards” Page.

6. Next you will want to add widgets to your dashboard. Click “Add Widget” in the upper right hand corner of your new dashboard. Please refer to https://kgsbuildings.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ClockworksAnalyticsUM/pages/1921810448 in the next section for more help.

7. Continue adding widgets and reformatting until you are happy with the layout.

8. Now, add any filters you want to your dashboard by clicking any of the “Global Filers” or “Page Filters”. For more on filtering see the https://kgsbuildings.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ClockworksAnalyticsUM/pages/1816363052.

Saving a Dashboard

9. Once you are happy with the widgets and filters you have on your dashboard, save the dashboard by clicking the Save button at the upper right hand corner of the dashboard. For users with certain admin privilege's, you can also save this as an “Organization Template” meaning anyone in your organization will now be able to add that dashboard template as their own. This is covered in the next step.

10. When saving your dashboard, if you are an admin with the appropriate privilege's, you will see an option to “Save Dashboard as an Organization Template”. What this means is, you are saving a user dashboard to your entire organization as a template that users can add. In order for the users to add that organization template, they must belong to that organization and have the proper privilege's.

11. Once you have selected “ Save as Organization Template”, then you will be able to add your own unique title and description. You can also leave this as default in which case Clockwork’s will create a duplicate dashboard, now at the organization level. Click “Ok” to confirm and “Cancel” to cancel the save.

12. Now, your dashboard is saved. You can navigate away from the dashboard by clicking any other dashboard name under the “Dashboards” menu in the left hand navigation. If you return to the dashboard you created, “My Dashboard” in this case, it will load with the widgets and the filters you saved. Remember to save your password before you navigate away. If you forgot to save, the system will prompt you to save your changes just in case!
